The Lomo’Instant Automat Suntur Edition is an instant camera. It was introduced by Lomography in September 2021. The model is based on the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass.
The edition was created in collaboration with Suntur, an artist from Thailand. Printed on the body are illustrations by the artist titled “Fear Less Smile More”.
The camera’s features include an automatic exposure mode, a bulb mode, multiple exposures, a built-in flash and more. It is also possible to use different lens attachments. For example, close-up shots are possible with the close-up lens.
In addition to the camera itself, the package includes a wide-angle attachment, a close-up lens, a fisheye attachment, a lens cap with remote release, a splitter, color filters, magnetic stickers, photo clips, photo stands, adhesive dots, and an instruction manual. Not included are the batteries. Two CR-2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*) are needed for the camera.
Films for the camera
There are no films included with the camera. The Lomo’Instant Automat Suntur Edition requires Instax Mini films. These films are manufactured by the Japanese company Fujifilm.
Depending on the variant, a pack contains one or more film cassettes. The film cassettes are individually shrink-wrapped and contain ten pictures each. The pictures have a size of 8.6 x 5.4 cm and are comparable to a credit card in terms of dimensions. The actual picture takes up an area of 6.2 x 4.6 cm, the rest is taken up by the white frame. However, there are also variants with colorful frames.
After you press the shutter button, the camera takes the picture, the Instax picture is ejected. Now the development of the picture begins. It does not need to be shaken or otherwise treated. The captured image becomes visible within a few minutes.
For the Instax Mini format, there is a color film (Instax Mini Film*), but with the Instax Mini Monochrome* also an option for black and white images.
